Guided tour of Padua

Padua, 30 kilometers away from Venice, is one of the oldest and at the same time most dynamic cities in Italy. In the elegant city centre,rich of wonderful examples of medieval, Renaissance and modern architecture, visitors feel a peculiar atmosphere mixing urban lifestyle and ancient traditions.

Programme

The guided tour of Padua is scheduled every Saturday afternoon.
2.30 p.m.: the participants to the tour will meet their official guide at the equestrian monument to Gattamelata in front of the Basilica of St. Anthony to move inside the Basilica and visit it.

Afterwards they will walk the medieval streets of the city to get to the city centre. Here they will be given a description of Palazzo del Bo, the first official seat of the prestigious University of Padua which counted also Galileo Galilei among its professors.

The tour will continue to Caffè Pedrocchi and the historical squares that host the street market, to be followed by a visit to the interiors of Palazzo della Ragione, the symbol of the city, wonderfully decorated with frescoes about the signs of the Zodiac. The tour will end at around ore 5.00 p.m.
