I Battelli del Brenta

Trips on the Padua rivers and along the channels of the historical centre of Padua. Short cruises to the Venetian Villas of the Brenta Riviera from Padua to Venice along the ancient route of the burchiello (Venetian boats) of the 18th century among art, history and nature with guided tours to famous holiday residences of the noble Venetians of the 18th century rich in frescoes.

In the past the “burchiello”, a boat that transported the Venetian and Paduan aristocracy, cruised along this route and still today various boats that transport tourists on the Brenta are called burchielli.

The navigation is done by the group “I Battelli del Brenta” on boats with 50 to 120 seats or, on request, on old and romantic wooden “burci” that have been restored.

A short and fascinating cruise goes through 9 swing bridges and 5 dams, that are like “water lifts” enabling the tourist to go up or down the channel that has a difference of 10 metres in the water level between Padua and Venice.
